Awards

These are only samples of the awards.  My awards are not just given to applicants and are not easy to win, they must be earned.  Awards given are determined by final score.

This award can not be applied for.

It is only awarded twice a year, once in June and once in December and only at my discretion.

Notice* Scoring was revised on 2/22/03, Old Scoring was: Merit: 75-80 Points, Bronze: 81-85 Points, Silver: 86-90 Points, Gold: 91-95 Points, Platinum: 96-100 Points. Winners reviewed under this old system will remain listed where they are as per the critique in place at the time.

General Criteria
Effective February 2,2003

  1. No under construction signs.

  2. Personal and Commercial sites may apply.

  3. If you have music on your page there must be a way to turn it off.

  4. You must be the owner and the one who maintains the site unless you are nominating someone else.

  5. Your site must have content not just a bunch of links to other places.

  6. The only language I understand is English so no foreign languages unless you have an English version also.

  7. Your site must not contain pornography, violence, discrimination, warz, crackz, or hackz or any other form of illegal activities.

  8. I understand that some sites have sponsor popup windows that are not within your control, but please Don't Add any of your own. This includes but is not limited to: Windows asking me to input my name or other information. Comet Cursor is acceptable.

  9. Sites that use "Frames" must have a "No Frames" option.

  10.  In order to comply with the U.S.  (C.O.P.P.A),  you must be at least 14 years old to apply or nominate a Web Site, the owner of a nominated site must also be 14+ years old.

  11. A few broken links and images are acceptable but excessive broken ones will disqualify. A few being no more then ten images and no more then five links.

  12. Your site must not be remote loading to things on someone else's site... that is bandwidth stealing and will earn you automatic disqualification. The only exceptions to this rule would be a counter or guest book, things along that nature.

  13. No part of the site should be password protected or require me to join a mailing list.

  14. Flash presentation is accepted for introduction pages only and there must be an option to skip it.

  15. Your site should not open another browser window for links within your own site,  Please limit this function to external links only.

  16. No Horizontal scroll bar, I will be viewing your page at 800x600 resolution.

  17. {amended 7/30/03} should you win one of my awards you must let me know you have posted the award on your site and where it is located within two week of me sending the award to you, if you do not abide by this I will assume you did not want the award and you will not be listed in the winners circle and the award becomes null and void.

    Additional Criteria For Sites Offering Awards.

  18. You should not disqualify or penalize sites for using comet cursor,  you can read more on this under discrepancies listed to the left.

  19. You should not disqualify or penalize sites for disabling the right click, you can read more on this under discrepancies listed to the left.

  20. You should not have signing your guest book as part of your award program criteria.

Only winners will be notified within 2-4 weeks if they have won.

Effective August 8,2003

Due to the increase of applications:
If you are applying for an award, and you maintain more the one site, you can only apply for one site at a time, you must wait until a later date to apply for the others. Applications will only be accepted for one site at a time during a review period.

OR...

You can also make a notation on your application that you have more then one site and have all your sites reviewed under one application. In the comment section just put in the address of those sites so they can be reviewed as one site as a whole.
